In the motorbike region Waldviertel the journey is the reward.

The north-east of Austria is not really mentioned in the same breath as the Dolomites or South Tyrol, which is also ok for me, as hardly anyone migth know tours such as the Tote Weib, Saurüssel, Wastl or Sattlgai.

Every region has its pecularities, in some regions these are the high number of mountain passes or hairpin bends, where in the Waldviertel region the focus is on drifting and letting go, in other words the journey is the reward.

Rough loneliness, roads with light traffic, ancient handicrafts, stones and traces of disappeared culture, these are the main ingredients of a motorbike tour in the Waldviertel region. However, also the Mühlviertel, Mostviertel and Weinviertel are within easy reach from our accommodation, bearing lots of interesting tours likewise.

Often our guests say that hardly ever they have driven so many beautiful curves with such lightly trafficked roads. „This is where stress of everyday life capitulates, slow down and enjoy riding in the Highlands“. That's how a friend of mine described motorcycling in our area.
